A simple definition of stewardship in the Church is:  Everything we do after we say “Yes” to God.  This comes from the idea that a steward is someone who takes care of things that belong to someone else.  Since everything comes from God, we are God’s stewards; we are to help care for what belongs to God.  That means caring for our neighbors and the environment as much as it means caring for the physical building in which we worship.  It also means responding with thanks to God by giving to others a portion of the resources with which we have been so generously blessed.

Stewardship is a year-round ministry for all Christians.  In November of each year, we hold a stewardship campaign in which we ask the members of St. Mary’s to consider how they can offer a portion of their resources in order to support the ongoing work of the parish in the coming year.  Ted Staszak is the Chairperson of the Stewardship Committee; please contact him or Mother Debbie if you have questions or would like to serve on the Stewardship Committee.
